The action during the college football spring transfer portal window isn't the same quantity play as the winter window, but there are still good players to be had if you know where to look, and the whims of the sport created some of the weirdest portal situations we've ever seen in this year's spring.

A couple notable recent commitments include former Syracuse wideout Trebor Peña moving to Penn State and ex- BYU wide receiver Keelan Marion committed to Miami. Both are considered major post-spring additions for a pair of preseason national championship contenders in need of offensive talent on the outside.

Spring storyline: The Nittany Lions snagged Jim Knowles, who just coordinated the No. 1 defense in college football last season at Ohio State. Penn State made him the highest-paid coordinator in the country ($3.1 million). Knowles will begin molding the Nittany Lions defense this spring, with plenty of talent to deploy.
