Andy Serkis is going back in time with a new trailer showcasing his upcoming gritty war movie, Young Washington, taking on battles and politics.

Serkis says he's "pretty certain" he can pull off both Alfred duties and directing Gollum's return, with Batman Part II hitting October and Hunt for Gollum following in December 2027.

The Hunt for Gollum is getting closer, as Andy Serkis teases the return of two more original Lord of the Rings characters.

Familiar names include Peter Jackson, who directed both the Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Hobbit prequel films, and screenwriters Philippa Boyens and Fran Walsh, PEOPLE previously reported. They'll be joined by Phoebe Gittins and Arty Papageorgiou, who wrote the animated movie Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.

As well as directing the new film, Andy Serkis stars as Gollum/Smeagol, Sir Ian McKellen returns as Gandalf, Elijah Wood is back as Frodo Baggins, and Lee Pace reprises his role as Thranduil. New additions to the cast include Kate Winslet as Marigol,
